HINGHAM, ABINGTON, WEYMOUTH LOSE
The Marshfield High School football team shut down Weymouth's offense for a 15-0 playoff win. Yesterday's victory puts Marshfield into the Division 1A Super Bowl game Saturday against Wayland.
Sacks and interceptions were the key for Marshfield, putting points on the board and limiting Weymouth to 32 yards of total offense.
Marshfield has played in the postseason in six of the last 12 years. Weymouth was playing post-Thanksgiving football for only the second time since the Super Bowls were introduced in 1972.
handbags f In another playoff game yesterday, Hingham's Chris Constantine scored two touchdowns and ran for 129 yards, but it wasn't enough as Hingham lost, 34-20, to Wareham in the Division 2A semifinal.
Zenith Newly Added "We're not done. We'll be around next year," Hingham coach Paul Killinger said later.
And a last-second field goal ended Abington's bid for a second Division 3 title in a row. Abington fell, 29-26, to Medfield after the field goal hit an upright and caromed through.
